Tory Johnson is an American author and life coach who educates viewers on a wide range of job-related issues and challenges as the Good Morning America workplace contributor and as a business and career coach at AOL Coaches.
In addition to her television segments, Johnson writes a weekly column for ABC News in which she addresses topics related to work/life balance, job searching, and career advancement in all fields. She aims to provide strategies and solutions for women and men to find success and satisfaction at work.
Johnson is the founder and CEO of Women For Hire which is a producer of recruiting events connecting professional women and leading employers throughout the country. She is a frequent speaker to audiences nationwide, ranging from college campuses to Fortune 500 companies, where she shares advice and inspiration on navigating a successful career.[1]
She is also the co-author of Women For Hire: The Ultimate Guide to Getting a Job. Her second book, "Women For Hire's Get-Ahead Guide to Career Success" was published in September 2004. Johnson's third career book Take this Book to Work: How to Ask for (and Get) Money, Fufillment, and Advancement was published in September 2006 by St. Martin's Press.
Johnson founded Women For Hire after serving in corporate communications positions at ABC News, NBC News and Nickelodeon. She was inducted into the YWCA's Class of 2002 Academy of Women Achievers, which recognizes the outstanding achievements of women leaders in business.
Johnson studied journalism at Emerson College, where she received the 2004 Altshuler Distinguished Fellowship in Communication, Media, and Arts Entrepreneurship.
Johnson lives in New York City with her husband and children.
